Review: Priti NYC Nail Polish in Jersey Beauty Dahlia *

You know it's a good day when the first thing that arrives on your doorstep is a new nail polish that you've never tried before, and that it's in a colour that you've been lemming! About a week ago, Pearl over at Miss Pearl Store was asking for someone to review a nail polish, and I jumped at the chance to do it! I would like to make it clear that while I received this product at no charge, my opinion is 100% my own and honest.

Pearl was lovely and easy to communicate with. As Miss Pearl Store is a Sydney based online store, it literally took 24 hours for the polish to turn up from when it was dispatched. For those who haven't heard of Miss Pearl Store, it sells a number of brands that are harder to come by in Australia, and also tend to be cruelty free/vegan/eco friendly. She stocks Manic Panic hair colours (I used several different colours when I was younger and really liked it), Scotch Nail Polishes (all the colours are gorgeous!), SW Basics, Alder Apothecary and Crazy Rumours lip products!

I received this Priti NYC nail polish (as well as a lipbalm) in Jersey Beauty Dahlia, which is a beautiful hot/rose pink type shade. For those who haven't heard of Priti NYC, it is a cruelty free and vegan brand that also happens to be 5 free! These retail for US$15 in the States, and at Miss Pearl Store, they go for AUD$16 a pop, which means that the price is extremely reasonable (ie not over inflated just by crossing the ocean).

It's a pretty bottle with a simple leafy symbol and a silver cap. Having a bit of a nail polish obsession (and just a general make up/beauty obsession), I've come across some terrible brushes, and I'm happy to report that this brush was easy to use and didn't make the polish look streaky.

As you can see from the photo above, that's two coats of polish, and it's quite opaque. It went on relatively smoothly and even the first coat was already quite opaque. It took about 5 minutes for the polish to dry well enough to apply the second coat. I didn't get any of those annoying little bubbles, and while it did still smell like nail polish, it wasn't an overwhelming scent.

Overall, I found the philosophy behind this company to be extremely admirable, and there was no compromise in the quality of the product. This nail polish also had a nice glossy finish, but I did also place a top coat over it for longevity. It lasted about 4 days before it chipped.

I recommend trying the polishes from Priti NYC - head over to Miss Pearl Store to see what else they have in stock! I'm looking forward to adding a few others to my collection!

Have you tried anything from Priti NYC before? Are there any cruelty free/vegan nail polish brands you like?
